Ingredients

Every ingredient in Flow was chosen for a reason. Here is each one, and the thinking behind it.

The functional mushrooms

Lion's Mane

Hericium erinaceus

1,040mg, dual-extract

A distinctive white, shaggy mushroom used in Chinese and Japanese culinary and herbal traditions for centuries. We use a dual-extract of the fruiting body processed in both hot water and alcohol because its compounds are split between water-soluble and alcohol-soluble fractions, and a single extraction method captures only part of them. Many products on the market use mycelium grown on grain, which is cheaper and less concentrated. We don't.

Cordyceps

Cordyceps militaris

1,040mg, dual-extract

Long valued in traditional Tibetan and Chinese practice, historically associated with stamina and used by those living at altitude. We selected militaris rather than wild-harvested sinensis because it is cultivated sustainably and allows for consistent, verifiable dosing which matters more to us than the cachet of the wild species.

Chaga

Inonotus obliquus

1,040mg, dual-extract

A mushroom that grows on birch trees across the Nordic and Siberian north, with a long history of use in the folk traditions of those regions.

The three mushrooms are dosed equally, at 1,040mg each, 3,120mg in total per serving.

The matcha

Ceremonial-grade matcha

1,700mg

Sourced as a single-origin ingredient rather than a blend. Matcha occupies a particular place in this formula: it carries the caffeine, but in the company of L-theanine, which occurs naturally in the same leaf. The two have been consumed together in tea for as long as tea has been drunk. We chose ceremonial grade over culinary grade because the difference is plain in the taste gentler, less astringent, without the need to mask it with sweetness.

The supporting botanicals

Ashwagandha (KSM-66®)

300mg

One of the most studied adaptogenic herbs, used in Ayurvedic tradition for millennia. KSM-66 is a branded, standardised root extract we specify it rather than generic ashwagandha because standardisation means each batch contains a known, consistent quantity of active compounds. The dose is deliberately modest, in keeping with both the principle of restraint and current guidance on sensible intake levels.

L-theanine

125mg

An amino acid found naturally in tea leaves. It is included here to complement the matcha rather than to act alone the pairing of the two is the oldest and best-documented combination in the entire formula.

The nutrient

This is the part of Flow where we can tell you, plainly and with regulatory backing, what the ingredient does.

Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin)

100µg

We use methylcobalamin, the form of B12 found naturally in the body, rather than the cheaper synthetic cyanocobalamin that most supplements rely on. It is the form we would choose for ourselves.

Vitamin B12 contributes to normal psychological function, to the normal functioning of the nervous system, and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

And a little else

A small amount of Himalayan salt for balance, vanilla bean for flavour, and lucuma, monk fruit, wheatgrass and spirulina supporting ingredients that round the taste and colour without sugar, stevia, or anything artificial.
